# Shifting Pages - Prototype v0.1

## Overview

This is a prototype build of "Shifting Pages" designed to test gameplay mechanics and performance across different computer systems. This version (v0.1) is not representative of the final product and is intended for testing purposes only.

## Purpose

The goal of this prototype is to find bugs, observe player behavior, and gather feedback for improvements. As an early version, expect unfinished features, rough visuals, and potential crashes.

## Technical Information

- Frame rate is locked at 30 FPS

- FPS counter is displayed in the top left corner

- Average gameplay duration: approximately 25 minutes

## Installation

1. Download and unzip the game folder

2. Run the executable file "SP_Prototype1.exe" to start the game 

## Controls

- **Mouse only gameplay** - The game is designed to be played exclusively with a mouse

- **Left Click**: Interact with objects (interactable objects are highlighted with a white outline when your cursor hovers over them)

- **Right Click (hold)**: Move your character

- **F1 key**: Automatically solve the current puzzle if you are stuck

- **Escape key**: Quit the game

- **Skull icon**: Access hints if needed during gameplay

## Key Areas to Test

- **Navigation**: Can you easily move around? Are you stuck anywhere?

- **Interaction**: Do objects respond when you interact with them?

## Reporting Issues

When reporting bugs or issues, please include:

- Short description of the issue

- Steps to reproduce the problem

- Screenshots or video (optional but very helpful!)

- Your impressions (e.g., "Character feels too slow" or "The atmosphere is creepy and great")

## Known Issues

- The hands at the bottom right corner don't do anything (visual remnant of a removed feature)

## Tips for Testing

- Play in one or two sessions if possible

- Don't worry about "winning" - focus on exploration

- It's okay if you get stuck; use the F1 key or skull for help
