Releasing the Prototype

I want to start by thanking everyone who took the time to try the prototype and share their honest thoughts. Your feedback—both the kind and the critical—means a lot. It’s not easy to let people peek into something so personal, especially a project born from late evenings and lunch breaks over the past three months.

When you're that close to a passion project, the urge to explain away every rough edge is strong. The visuals that didn’t quite land, the missing pieces, the shortcuts you swore were temporary... But releasing the prototype as it was, imperfect and raw, was a lesson in letting go.

I worked on this incrementally, deliberately resisting the endless loop of polishing and reworking. Even before putting it out there, I already had a mental list of things I wanted to tweak or remove. What surprised me was how much the feedback confirmed those instincts—and how often it revealed blind spots I hadn’t considered.

Now, with clearer eyes, I can see what works, what doesn't, and most importantly, where to go from here. This was never meant to be the final product. It’s a first step. But thanks to everyone who joined me for it, it feels like the right one.

Next up: research and development for a better production pipeline, documenting both the technical and gameplay sides, and finally taking time to write the story down properly. A lot of it still lives in my head and has changed quite a bit since the beginning—some early remnants, like the book-centric narrative, still linger in the prototype. Getting everything on paper will help bring clarity to the vision as it continues to evolve.
